Accolo was founded in 2000 as a new kind of human resources company, capitalizing on technological efficiencies while correcting some of the larger human issues in recruitment outsourcing. A central focus of the business is their unique recruitment automation and workflow system, known as "Orion". Accolo aims to reduce the time required and the cost of recruiting by leveraging the contacts between people, even those not currently seeking new employment, and focusing on restoring a sense of goodwill between recruiters and candidates. They continue to grow, with a planned expansion into the Canadian and European markets.
Accolo started out with an intimate understanding of the market, the deficiencies of existing recruiting, and excellent contacts in the industry. Their challenge was to quickly build a best-of-breed application to allow the efficient processing of job openings, methods of identifying and classifying applicants, and orchestrating the complex communications requirements of the hiring process. While they launched with a development partner who produced a proof-of-concept application, it was clear that the design was not maintainable, scalable or designed for expansion.
clue inc's challenge was to re-architect the prototype into a production quality, high performance system which could grow with Accolo, reduce future development and maintenance costs, and incrementally expand its feature set as needed.
Working closely with Accolo's senior management and technical staff, clue has redesigned and reimplemented the internal interfaces, focusing on a standards based design that significantly reduces development time, redesigned the underlying data schema to improve performance and accommodate changing needs, and provided major feature additions, such as geographically based searching, reporting tools, and third-party external data exchange.
As Accolo continues to grow, clue continues to provide development services, technical architectural consulting, and systems and database administration and support.
With the addition of rigorous development methodology, a modern, expressive application architecture, and forward looking technical direction, Accolo has been able to reduce maintenance and development costs, roll out new features in a quick and efficient fashion, and innovate in a highly competitive market, reducing both the costs and the duration of the recruitment process.
